Some vehicles that are branded as salvage can be rebuilt and restored into a road worthy condition. This process is known as rebuilding. To rebuild a vehicle first a certified mechanic needs to perform repairs to the vehicle. After the repairs are done, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) inspects the vehicle and determines if it can be safely operated on the road. If the vehicle passes the inspection, the DMV will issue a new title with the “rebuilt” branding. After this process is complete, you may insure the vehicle and drive it legally on the road.
